Timeline
- 1919: Joe Luck opens the Lucky Store, a general goods store, in Firestone Park.
- 1946: Sons Milton and Leonard take over the business.
- 1955: Milton opens the family’s first shoe and accessory store, Lucky Shoes, in Fairlawn Plaza.
- 1973: Milton’s son Tom joins Lucky Shoes.
- 1976: Tom expands the Fairlawn store, taking over the 6,000 square-foot Acme grocery store and becomes one of the first super-shoe stores in the country and increases the business threefold in two years.
- 1981: Lucky Shoes expands to Canton.
- 1991: Tom’s son John joins the business.
- 1995: Lucky Shoes Fairlawn adds the Stride Rite Bootery.
- 1996: Lucky Shoes adds a third location in Strongsville that includes a second Stride Rite Bootery.
- 1998: A turning point in the history of Lucky Shoes, John Luck becomes a certified pedorthist and takes Lucky Shoes in a specialized direction.
- 1999: Tom opens his first two New Balance stores; Great Northern Mall and Fairlawn Town Centre.
- 2012: Lucky Shoes relocates and expands its Fairlawn location to 18,500 sq. ft. Opens the SAS Comfort Shoes store and now has nine New Balance stores.
- 2014: Lucky Shoes expands its reach to the Columbus area by opening a Lucky Shoes store at Easton Town Center
- 2017: Lucky Shoes collaborates with Vionic to open the very first brick-and-mortar retail store in the United States located in Fairlawn, Ohio.
- 2018: Lucky Shoes collaborates opens the second brick-and-mortar retail store in the United States located in Westlake, Ohio.
